LeadingAge NY's remarks focused on the failures of prior waivers to invest in services for older adults and the pressing need for a renewed emphasis on the long term care system given demographic changes. Comments on the 1115 waiver amendment are due on Oct. 19^th.

The virtual forum, which pertains to the existing waiver, not the proposed amendment, will be held on Sept. 28^th from 1 to 4 p.m. Written comments may be submitted through Oct. 10^th.

LeadingAge NY's written comments called for targeted funding and strategies to support older adults and the long term care providers that serve them, including investments in quality, workforce, and affordable housing with services. DOH posted slides and a recording of the waiver hearings.

Under the proposed 1115 waiver, the value-based payment framework described in the Roadmap will drive a substantial investment in the State's health system.

LeadingAge NY presented comments focusing on the draft waiver's startling omission of the needs of older adults and meaningful investment in the long term care system.

The waiver would invest $13.5 billion over five years in the health care system to address health disparities and health care delivery issues. Virtual public hearings will be held on April 28^th and May 3^rd. Written comments are due by May 13^th.
