The $646 million program will fund a pipeline for health, mental health, and social care workers and provide advancement opportunities for current workers.

DOH has requested Letters of Interest for funding under the Safety Net Transformation Program.  To qualify, safety net hospitals must partner with other organizations.

Last week, the DOH selected 9 organizations to lead regional Social Care Networks aimed at integrating health care and social care under the State's Medicaid 1115 Waiver.

The association's comments noted that, although older adults are the state's fastest-growing demographic group, the waiver does little to address the unique needs of older adults, especially those who need long-term care services.

The amended waiver will invest $7.5 billion in health and social care over three years, focusing on health equity, safety net hospitals, and workforce shortages.

The association's comments to CMS on the State's proposed $13.5 billion waiver emphasized the need for funding mechanisms designed for dual eligibles and the long term care and aging services providers that serve them.
