Please Mark Your Calendar for Upcoming Value-Based Payment Webinars
Through a partnership with the national consulting firm Health Dimensions Group, LeadingAge New York is offering its members a free value-based payment (VBP) educational series. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for the remaining three VBP webinars in the series:
1. Bundled Payments as a Platform to Understanding VBP (Jan. 20th, 3:00-4:30 pm): Will address the growth of Medicare’s Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative; the recently finalized Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model; and bundling in the context of NY’s VBP Roadmap, including an example for a Medicaid population.
2. New Models of Care Under VBP (March 1st, 3:00-4:30 pm): Will cover emerging models of care under VBP including greater use of physicians and nurse practitioners; use of INTERACT and other tools for reduced readmissions and improved outcomes; interventions to improve care transitions; and participation in preferred networks.
3. Understanding Risk in a Value-Based World (March 23rd, 3:00-4:30 pm): Will include a discussion of the latest trends in value-based contracting with managed care plans; a primer for understanding how risk works in value-based arrangements; and an explanation of opportunities/risks for gain sharing.
Registration instructions for the Jan. 20th webinar will be provided in next week’s edition of Intelligence.
The first webinar in the LeadingAge NY VBP educational series, “What Value-Based Purchasing Means to Post-Acute and Long Term Care” was held Dec. 16th. A recording of the session and a copy of the slides are posted on our website.
As noted in our Dec. 2, 2016 memo, LeadingAge NY and Health Dimensions Group are also offering members a VBP readiness scorecard and readiness guide. The readiness scorecard is contained in the Dec. 2nd memo, and we encourage members to use it to assess their organization’s current level of preparation for VBP. The readiness guide will be provided in the next several weeks.
