LeadingAge NY Proposes Regulatory Reforms to Support Value-Based Payment
Over the past several months, LeadingAge New York has been working with the State Department of Health (DOH) and other stakeholders to provide input into the design and parameters for payment reform under the State's Value-Based Payment (VBP) Roadmap. DOH has convened a VBP Work Group, five Subcommittees, and nine Clinical Advisory Groups to support the implementation of the Roadmap. LeadingAge New York staff and many LeadingAge New York members serve on the VBP Work Group, the Subcommittees, and the Managed Long Term Care Clinical Advisory Group (the MLTC CAG). Information about the Roadmap and the implementation activities is available on the DOH website.
Recently, LeadingAge New York submitted to the Regulatory Impact Subcommittee and the MLTC Clinical Advisory Group a series of regulatory reform proposals that, if adopted, would facilitate effective value-based payment arrangements. The proposals are available here.
The Subcommittees are expected to wrap up their work by the end of the year, while the VBP Work Group and Clinical Advisory Groups are likely to continue to meet through early 2016. We will keep members apprised of key developments as the implementation process progresses.
