DSRIP Weekly Update-March 17, 2015
As Performing Provider Systems (PPSs) work on their implementation plans, LeadingAge NY is urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to reconsider their position on the Vital Access Provider (VAP) exception. Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) is conducting a live question and answer session this week.
Letter to CMS Regarding VAP Exception
LeadingAge NY asked CMS to reconsider their VAP exception determinations in a letter sent last week. We were extremely disappointed that CMS did not accept many of the State’s recommendations to deem certain providers as Safety Net through the VAP process. The information given about these determinations left us with many questions and concerns. We will keep members apprised on any developments regarding this issue.
Dialogue with Jason Helgerson on Wed. March 18
Jason Helgerson, the NYS Department of Health's Director of Medicaid, will be available on Wed, March 18 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the MRT Innovation eXchange (“MIX”), to conduct a live question and answer session regarding DSRIP. It appears that you will need to set up an account in advance to access; click here to sign up for the MIX.
The MIX is an online forum for collaboration and sharing ideas regarding DSRIP and Medicaid Redesign. DOH hopes that this forum will help connect the many stakeholders on these issues, and help generate solutions. Within the MIX are a variety of “Challenges” and discussion groups. This dialogue will be available on “Challenge 7."
As always, members are encouraged to let us know about your DSRIP experience and any questions or needs you might have.
