DSRIP Weekly Update-July 29, 2014
LeadingAge NY will meet with the Department of Health (DOH) this week as a follow-up to some of the issues we and our colleagues raised about the omission of several key provider types in the safety net analysis. If there are other issues you would like us to discuss with DOH, let us know. Below is a summary of DSRIP information that came out this week.
Design Grant Applications Announcements Pushed Back
The State is currently in the process of reviewing the 50 design grant applications submitted by emerging Performing Provider Systems (PPS) through the DSRIP Program. Previously, awards for accepted applications were scheduled to be made on Aug. 1, 2014; however it is now anticipated that the announcement will be made on Aug. 6, 2014. Please visit the DSRIP Design Grant Page for this updated information.
Physicians and Pharmacies Safety Net Lists
The Safety Net Appeal process is currently closed, but will be reopened prior to the deadline for submission of the full DSRIP application. The DSRIP Safety Net page has been updated to provide new information regarding Eligible Safety Net Physicians and Eligible Safety Net Pharmacies.
Support Team Identified
DOH announced today the award of DSRIP Support Team funding to KPMG, LLP, contingent upon successful negotiation of a contract. DOH plans to contract with KPMG for up to a one-year contract period to work with providers to strategically think through their potential DSRIP Project Plan applications. KPMG would also work on developing project proposal prototypes and "how to" guides to help providers as they prepare their DSRIP Project Plan applications. KPMG would then help PPSs understand what a strong application looks like and to enhance application development efforts during the development process, including examples of transformation blueprints, governance models, flow-of-funds, etc. To learn more about the Support Team’s role, click here.
