DSRIP Weekly Update-Jan. 20, 2015
This week, the big news for Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program followers was the posting of applications submitted by Performing Provider Systems (PPS) and the addition of new Safety Net providers.
PPS Applications Posted
The Department of Health (DOH) posted all of the applications submitted by PPS, statewide. They are available for public comment for thirty days, and will be discussed by the Oversight Panel in the February meeting, which is open to the public. The applications can be viewed here.
LeadingAge New York is currently analyzing the applications and their implications for our members. Meanwhile, the public can get a sense of what approaches will be utilized in their communities. The United Hospital Fund has issued an initial analysis of the applications and projects selected. It is notable that all PPS requested capital funds. Among the most common projects selected were Primary and Behavioral Health Integration and Integrated Delivery Systems. Five projects were not selected by any PPS. Click here to view the report.
Vital Access Provider Exemption Determinations Begin
Last week, DOH announced that the Centers for and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved nine entities for the Safety Net designation. Click here to view the CMS letter regarding these approvals. These organizations are lead entities in various PPS, including:
- Southern Tier Rural Integrated PPS;
- Bronx Lebanon PPS;
- Mount Sinai PPS;
- Central New York DSRIP PPS, Inc.;
- Fingerlakes PPS;
- Ellis Hospital (New Corporation);
- Advocate Community Providers, Inc.;
- Richmond University Medical Center & State Island University (New Corporation); and
- SB Clinical Network IPA, LLC.
Perhaps more notable for our members is that DOH is also working with CMS on the remaining Vital Access Provider applications. We will report more information as we learn it. Questions for DOH regarding the Vital Access Provider Exception or DSRIP safety net process can be directed to BVAPR@health.ny.gov .
PPS Meeting Materials
DOH provided materials that were presented at the DSRIP implementation plan workshop held in Albany on Fri., Jan. 16. Representations from each PPS were required to attend. Click here to view.
