DSRIP Weekly Update-March 24, 2015

In Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program news, the State accepted the PAOP recommendations on scoring, more time and information is available for implementation planning and the Nassau-Queens Performing Provider System (PPS) is deemed a Safety Net provider.

Project Approval and Oversight Panel (PAOP) Recommendations Sent to CMS

Dr. Zucker, State Health Commissioner, accepted all of the DSRIP Project Approval and Oversight Panel (PAOP) recommendations to the Project Plan Application scores. This information has been forwarded to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for final approval. To view the summary sent to CMS, click here. More Information Regarding Implementation Plan Prototype Available

A second installment of the implementation plan prototype, which has previously been sent to the PPS leads, is now available. The prototype should provide guidance to PPSs in completing their own implementation plans, and thus may give member participants insight into their role in the implementation of DSRIP projects. Nassau-Queens PPS Deemed Safety Net Provider

CMS approved the Nassau-Queens PPS to be a Safety Net provider and serve as a lead entity. Click here to view the letter. CMS was following up on a revision to this Vital Access Provider  (VAP) exception appeal, thus the late determination. Questions regarding the VAP exception or DSRIP safety net process should be directed to DOH at BVAPR@health.ny.gov

DSRIP Time Frames Adjusted Allowing More Time for Implementation

DOH reports that the DSRIP years will be modified to be consistent with the fiscal years as determined by CMS. The Department of Health will provide an update shortly, and the change will result in additional time for PPS to implement their project plans.

Members are encouraged to let us know what your DSRIP needs are. Questions can also be directed to DOH at DSRIP@health.ny.gov.
