Nursing Homes: Get Ready for New Facility Assessment Requirements
(June 3, 2024) New facility assessment requirements related to nursing home staffing will take effect on Aug. 8, 2024, under the recently adopted federal staffing regulations. Although the regulations' mandated staffing levels do not take effect for two years or more, nursing homes will have to implement enhancements to their facility assessments beginning this summer. LeadingAge National is partnering with Pathway Health to provide members with the resources they need to come into compliance.
LeadingAge National is hosting a two-part webinar series on the new assessment requirements. The first session was presented on May 15, 2024, and the recording and associated resources are available here. The second webinar, scheduled for July 9, 2024 at 2 p.m., will offer an in-depth examination of the updates and enhancements to the staffing aspects of the facility assessment. Registration for the second session will be open in the next few weeks.
In addition to the webinars, LeadingAge National and Pathway Health have developed a comprehensive facility assessment toolkit to assist members with all aspects of the facility assessment. The toolkit is available to members only here. More information on the facility assessment changes and the federal staffing regulations is available here and here.
