Center for Health Workforce Studies Collecting Staffing Information
The Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) at the University at Albany monitors health care employment trends in NYS and regularly issues reports of its findings. CHWS is currently in the process of an important survey of nursing home and adult care facility (ACF)/assisted living providers to obtain timely information on health workforce employment. The primary purpose of the survey is to better understand the current recruitment and retention problems faced by providers. LeadingAge NY encourages members to take a few minutes to participate in this important initiative.
While we understand the frustrations of daily surveys that members currently face, the Center relies on partnerships with the provider community to collect this critical information. CHWS reports are presented to policymakers and help provide a critical empirical basis for our advocacy on staffing issues. The online survey, available here, requires no research; the questions are multiple choice and primarily oriented toward indicating the level of difficulty providers experience in their recruitment and retention efforts. The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete; the Administrator or Director of Human Resources would be the most appropriate person to complete the survey. For questions or more information on the survey, please contact Alex Romero at aaromero@albany.edu.
