Family Health Care Decisions Act

During a review of the policies it was determined that the policy on decisions for minors should include one additional step. Specifically, for decisions to forgo life-sustaining treatment by parents or guardians for minors who are not terminally ill or permanently unconscious, the decision should be approved by the Ethics Review Committee. Decisions of this type are likely to be quite rare. The revised policy is attached below.
