Session Offers Employee Retention Credit Insights

For those who may have missed it, highlights of an educational session on the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) along with a recording of the session are now available. LeadingAge National organized the discussion featuring a panel of experts from LeadingAge Business Partner firms FORVIS, CliftonLarsonAllen, and Venable law firm. The open forum discussion aimed specifically at LeadingAge members addressed some key questions and concerns on submitting ERC claims as well as reporting and audit considerations.

Consistent with LeadingAge NY member experience, panelists shared that ERC claims, on average, seem to take six to nine months to be processed, with some waiting longer than a year. In those circumstances, panelists reported some success by helping clients work through their states’ Internal Revenue Service (IRS) taxpayer advocate programs.
