Congress Approves Budget Resolution: No Federal Gov’t Shutdown
Congress has approved a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund federal agencies and programs through Sept. 30, the end of Federal Fiscal Year 2013. This means that the potential March 28 government shutdown has been averted. The CR, however, incorporates essentially all of the “sequestration” cuts, including the Medicare two percent across-the-board reduction which takes effect for claims with dates of service starting April 1, 2013.
