CMS Corrects SNF PPS

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has published a rule making corrections to Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Medicare Part A rates effective Oct. 1, 2017. The changes are small but impact base rate components and wage index calculations. Base rates decrease slightly, while all wage indexes in New York increase slightly. The change to each RUG-III rate is not likely to be greater than 25 cents. LeadingAge NY will reissue and redistribute the SNF PPS rate schedule after the correction rule is finalized.
