Providers interested in submitting comments on the proposed SNF PPS rule, either directly to CMS or through LeadingAge NY, should do so this week.

A LeadingAge NY memo summarizing the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) that CMS has proposed as a replacement for the RUG-IV methodology for determining Medicare Part A rates for nursing homes is available here.  CMS is accepting comments on the proposal until June 26.

Most Medicare providers need to file cost reports by the end of May. This year, CMS is establishing a streamlined, electronic submission process.

The SNF PPS proposed rule would update payment rates for the coming year, make changes to quality reporting and VBP programs, and replace RUG-IV with an alternative case mix methodology.
