Providers interested in submitting comments on the proposed SNF PPS rule, either directly to CMS or through LeadingAge NY, should do so this week.

A LeadingAge NY memo summarizing the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) that CMS has proposed as a replacement for the RUG-IV methodology for determining Medicare Part A rates for nursing homes is available here.  CMS is accepting comments on the proposal until June 26.

June 6^th call is targeted at Medicare Part A and B providers, vendors, and billing specialists.

Most Medicare providers need to file cost reports by the end of May. This year, CMS is establishing a streamlined, electronic submission process.

The SNF PPS proposed rule would update payment rates for the coming year, make changes to quality reporting and VBP programs, and replace RUG-IV with an alternative case mix methodology.

Starting in October, all nursing homes will be subject to a 2 percent Medicare Part A reduction. Those who score well on their hospital readmission measure may qualify for an incentive payment.

Provisions of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 that are retroactive to Jan. 1, 2018 do not require any new action by providers.

Providers interested in settling eligible Medicare appeals should submit an Expression of Interest form to CMS. Deadline for some is March 9^th.
