Several Nursing Home Payments Released
Medicaid payment cycle 2325 (payment release date of March 30th/31st) reflects several lump sum payments from two separate programs as well as rate appeals impacting 2021 rates. The payments include the second payment of the 2021-22 CINERGY program to participating homes as well as 2021-22 Advanced Training Initiative (ATI) payments to those eligible. In addition, the Department of Health (DOH) has processed a second batch of appeals dating back to 2009. Appeals processed for rate periods through 2020 will be reflected as lump sum payments in cycle 2324. Appeals for 2021 will be processed as rate changes and paid as retroactive adjustments in cycle 2325. Recoupments for any negative appeals will begin with cycle 2325. Supporting materials for processed appeals are posted on the Health Commerce System (HCS), and the associated Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) is available here.
Nursing home providers who need to file further appeals to appeals processed in this round or in the round of appeals released in December 2021 have until March 31st to do so. Please note that providers with outstanding Medicaid liabilities who receive appeals payments will have their electronic funds transfer intercepted and be issued a paper check after the liability or portion of the liability is subtracted.
