RHCF Cost Report Due July 31st
The nursing home Medicaid cost report along with the required electronic certifications, originally due July 3rd, are now due no later than Mon., July 31, 2017. The Department of Health (DOH) notice announcing the date change is copied below. We remind members to ensure that those who will need to complete electronic certifications of the report have the requisite Health Commerce System (HCS) account access well before the due date. Filing the cost report late could lead to penalties and can significantly decrease a home's Nursing Home Quality Initiative score because several measures are tied to cost report data.

In accordance with Part 86-2.2 of the Commissioner’s Administrative Rules and Regulations, all nursing facilities must complete and file annual financial and statistical reports (i.e., Cost Reports) provided by the Department of Health (“the Department”). As has been communicated previously, the cost report software is available for download on the HCS.
THERE HAS BEEN AN IMPORTANT CHANGE:
Please be advised that the 2016 RHCF Cost Reports and all certifications must be filed and accepted with the Department no later than Monday, July 31, 2017.
Any facility that does not submit the 2016 RHCF Cost Report and operator certification by due date above will be considered late. The Department will not accept requests to extend the established due date. Facilities that fail to meet the Monday, July 31, 2017 due date may be subject to the penalties imposed by Section 86-2.2 of the New York Codes Rules and Regulations (NYCRR) as well as penalties associated with the Quality Initiative.
