Nursing Homes: Watch for Preview Capital Rates

As was done last year, the Department of Health (DOH) will be issuing draft 2017 Medicaid capital rate calculations for nursing homes to review in advance of the full rate sheet posting. Homes identifying errors in the calculation will have the opportunity to submit and attest to a corrected calculation. DOH will review the corrections, and those that appear appropriate will be used as the basis of the 2017 capital component, subject to eventual OMIG audit. We expect the rate sheets to be available next week, with providers having until early December to submit corrections. A letter detailing the process and setting the exact dates will accompany the rate sheets.
