Nursing Home Payment Updates
(Dec. 23, 2024) We remind nursing homes that most members should see the federal share of “safe staffing” funding in Medicaid payment cycle 2468 released on Dec. 26th. More information on those payments is available here. CINERGY participants should expect to see the federal share of 2023-24 payments in payment cycle 2470 scheduled for release on Jan. 9, 2025. Additionally, the Department of Health (DOH) has notified homes deemed eligible for Advanced Training Initiative (ATI) funding that the application survey is now open and needs to be completed by Jan. 6, 2025. All members eligible for ATI should have received an email from us with additional information on Dec. 20th.
Finally, DOH just announced that payments for the first batch of historic Medicaid rate appeals covering 2009 through 2021 will be paid in cycle 2471 scheduled for Jan. 15th release. Please note that this is the same cycle in which DOH will implement the 10 percent capital cut, which will be netted from any lump sum appeals payment. The Department has posted facility-specific files (using the current facility name and operating certificate number) on the Health Commerce System (HCS) Healthcare Financial Data Gateway under Publications—Nursing Homes—NH Rate Sheets—Appeals Processed December 2024. The posted files include the lump sum payment amount (if applicable) and related appeal(s) processed. The Electronic Appeal System will be updated soon to reflect the processed appeals.
DOH reminds that not all appeals that were verified through the “Appeals Exercise” conducted in the fall of 2023 (during which homes reviewed outstanding appeals for accuracy and appropriateness) are included in this posting. DOH anticipates processing additional batches in the future. The associated Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) is available here.
