Nursing Home NAMI Survey Coming

DOH continues to explore the possibility of the state taking over the responsibility of NAMI collections from nursing homes.  In order to make a compelling proposal to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services whose approval for the change would be required, DOH needs to present valid statewide data on collected and uncollectable NAMI amounts.  Homes will be receiving a survey in early January asking for collected and uncollected NAMI amounts, as well as primary reasons for uncollectable NAMI.  We ask members to watch for this critical survey and respond promptly to help this important proposal advance.
