Nursing Home Cost Reports Due Mid-August

With several quality pool measures contingent on the timely and accurate filing of Medicaid cost report, there are more financial implications of late cost report filing than ever before.  Accuracy is equally important:  nursing staff retention data from Schedules P and O are likely to be used to qualify homes to apply to participate in the new Advance Training Initiative currently under development.  DOH recently clarified the instructions for completing these schedules.

The 2014 Medicaid nursing home cost reports, electronic certifications and any other required documents are due Friday, Aug. 14.  Homes must ensure that those individuals who will be certifying the report have access to the appropriate applications on the Health Commerce System (HCS) by Aug. 7.  Submission guidelines are posted here.
