Nursing Home Cost Reports

Both the cost report and accompanying certifications are due by Aug. 16.  Although DOH has said they will not entertain requests for extensions, should your home be unable to meet the deadline, we recommend that you notify DOH as soon as possible.  Late filers will lower their quality pool score, are likely to experience a delay in their capital reimbursement and may face other penalties. 

The DOH communication on cost report filing reminds that the following circumstances render a cost report incomplete, inaccurate or incorrect:  A rejected stepdown; lack of operator and/or CPA certification; failure to include notes to financial statement; and failure to submit hard copies of related company financials.
