Nursing Home Cost Report Deadline Extended
(Aug. 20, 2024) As we shared directly with members last week, on Aug. 14th, the Department of Health (DOH) announced an extension to the 2023 nursing home Medicaid cost report filing deadline. The report and associated certifications are now due on Sept. 20, 2024. DOH included the following reminders along with the extension announcement:
- Several documents are available on the Health Commerce System (HCS) in the NH Cost Report section to aid in the submission, including:
- RHCF Cost Report Submission Guidelines
- RHCF Cost Report Electronic Certification Access Instructions
- Updated CPA Certification Documents (in accordance with SAS 134)
- Related Party Audited Financials must be sent to RHCF-HCS@health.ny.gov for the cost report submission to be acceptable.
- The software provided by the Department is the ONLY software that can be used for submission of the cost report. Third-party software creates errors in submission and will not be accepted.
