Nursing Home Assessment Reimbursement
In July, the Department of Health (DOH) updated the cash receipts assessment reimbursement amount that nursing homes receive through Medicaid fee-for-service billing. Amounts were updated from 2010-based figures to those based on 2014. The impact of this change retroactive to Jan. 1, 2016 was reflected in Medicaid payment cycle 2031 (checks dated July 25th, released on Aug. 10th). Please note that this update impacted fee-for-service rates--the benchmark rate listing, which establishes the rate managed care plans pay nursing homes in the absence of an alternative agreed-upon rate, was updated to reflect the 2014-based reimbursement amount previously.
