IGT Funding for County Nursing Homes

LeadingAge NY has confirmed with the Department of Health (DOH) that the Intergovernmental Transfer (IGT) payment for 2012 has been approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  The total statewide payment for 2012 is approximately $293 million.  The DOH letter to the counties regarding the county-specific amount and the funds transfer should be released in the next few days, with an anticipated June 4 actual payment date (DOH indicated that they may try for a May 28 payment date, but June 4 is the more likely scenario).  The 2012 payment represents a significant increase over 2011, which should be good news for most counties.

The 2013 IGT payment is still being reviewed by CMS.  As always, LeadingAge NY is carefully monitoring the situation and we will advise members as soon as there are any further developments.
