Hurricane Sandy Payments Due to be Released

According to the latest update from DOH, they anticipate that the final reconciliation of the Hurricane Sandy Survey results will be completed within the next two to three weeks.  Once this reconciliation is done, it should clear the way for payments to be released within another two to three weeks to those facilities that received evacuated residents.  DOH also anticipates that they will soon have a final version of their Hurricane Sandy Policy Issues FAQ.  This document, which has been drafted in concert with LeadingAge NY and other associations, is designed to not only address issues specific to Sandy, but will also form the basis for how DOH expects to handle similar situations in the future.  While we all hope that the need for such a document will not again come up any time soon, this will be an important resource for both DOH and providers to allow for more effective management in the aftermath of emergency situations.
