General Medicaid Program Updates

The latest issue of the New York State Medicaid Update reminds Medicaid providers who are required to implement and maintain a compliance program, that they must also certify annually that their compliance program meets the statutory and regulatory requirements. The certification must occur in December of each year; the Office of Medicaid Inspector General website has resources describing the process. The update reports on provider ICD-10 readiness and links to Internet resources to prepare providers in advance of the Oct. 15, 2015 date. According to a recent DOH survey, 83 percent of responding providers had not yet assessed the impact of migrating to ICD-10 on their organizations. The publication also includes updates on prescription drug claims and pharmacy prior authorization.
