First Look at 2013-14 SFY State Medicaid Spending

The latest DOH report announces that “total State Medicaid expenditures under the Medicaid Global Spending Cap for SFY 2013-14 through May are $5 million or 0.2 percent under projections." Nursing home spending was $6 million lower than projected with “other long term care” $3 million shy of projections. Managed care and clinic Medicaid spending was above projections and Medicaid audit recoveries were lower than expected. Roughly 58,000 individuals enrolled in Medicaid managed care in the two month period while fee-for-service Medicaid rolls decreased by about 16,000.
