DOH Posts Appeals Review FAQs
The Department of Health (DOH) has posted a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to the request that nursing home providers review the accuracy of their outstanding Medicaid rate appeals. Members will recall that DOH has implemented a nursing home rate appeal “attestation exercise” with the goal of clearing outstanding Medicaid rate appeals for rate years 2009 through 2021. Homes with outstanding appeals are asked to review a listing of appeals provided by DOH in an Excel file and to provide the requested information on the Residential Health Care Facility Open Appeals Impact Form tab of that Excel file for each appeal listed for their facility. Please note that DOH distributed a corrected file (which can also be downloaded here) on Oct. 3rd along with the notification that the due date for submitting the results of the review was extended to Jan. 8, 2024.
Providers should submit the completed file along with the attestation form (available here) via email to nfrates@health.ny.gov. A recording of the Sept. 27th webinar that DOH held to review the process is available for viewing here, and the FAQs are here. DOH is fielding questions at nfrates@health.ny.gov.
