Dec. 6th Marks Three Nursing Home Deadlines

(Dec. 3, 2024) We remind nursing home members that three review deadlines all fall on Dec. 6th. Chief among them is the review of the State’s calculation of the 2025 Medicaid capital rate. All nursing home providers are asked to submit a signed attestation indicating that they either agree with, or are requesting revisions to, the rate that the Department of Health (DOH) posted on the Health Commerce System (HCS) on Nov. 1st. More information with links to the attestation form and other materials is available here

DOH is also offering providers a chance to review their 2023 Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) score sheets before they are finalized and made public. Questions may be submitted to NHQP@health.ny.gov through Dec. 6th. The score sheets are posted on the Healthcare Financial Data Gateway section of the HCS. More information is here.

In preparation of the next batch disenrollment of long-stay nursing home residents enrolled in Partially Capitated Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plans, DOH is requesting that nursing homes review residents who may be disenrolled and inform the Department if any such residents are actively working toward a discharge to the community. The next disenrollment date is Feb. 1, 2025, but DOH requests that homes complete the review and provide the requested information by Dec. 6th. More information is posted here.
