Broad Support for Universal Settlement

Nursing home operators have responded very positively to the survey on a proposed universal settlement of nursing home rate appeals and litigation. All but 25 homes in the State have responded to the survey as of Mon., Jan. 12, with 97 percent of respondents indicating that they intend to participate in the settlement. LeadingAge NY’s counsel reported the results of the vote to State officials. We thank our members for their attention and rapid response to the State's request. 

The State will evaluate the responses and use the information as a guide for drafting release and settlement documents. LeadingAge NY staff and General Counsel, Sean Doolan, will continue to be extensively involved in the universal settlement discussions, and keep members updated on the latest developments.
