ATI Training Program Selections Should Be Completed by Jan. 27th
We remind member nursing homes that are eligible for Advanced Training Initiative (ATI) funding that they should indicate the training organization with which they intend to partner and the program(s) they intend to implement by completing the online application by Jan. 27th. Generally, homes with 2019 staff retention rates exceeding the state median are eligible for the program, although homes receiving Vital Access Provider (VAP) grants and hospital-based homes are categorically excluded. The initiative is designed to help train direct care staff to identify changes in a resident’s physical, mental, or functional status that could lead to hospitalization. LeadingAge NY is one of the designated training partners for the ATI program.
The Department of Health (DOH) notified eligible homes of their awards earlier this month. ATI-eligible members would have also received information from LeadingAge NY about the DOH-approved training programs we offer. This included program descriptions, goals, suggested participants, numbers of sessions, hours, and estimated costs. That information is also available here. We encourage members to review these offerings and to reach out to Kathy Taylor (ktaylor@leadingageny.org) if you have additional questions. While eligible homes would have been notified, you can verify your facility's eligibility status on the Healthcare Financial Data Gateway section of the Health Commerce System (HCS) or here.
