New FAQs on NH Transition to Managed Care

Last week DOH published a fourth set of Frequently Asked Questions regarding mandatory enrollment into managed care for nursing home residents.  Some of the 28 questions address actual situations providers and plans are facing and spotlight areas of concern and uncertainty.  Question 21 clarifies that bed hold only applies to allowable Medicaid bed hold days suggesting that a home is not able to maintain a resident's status as grandfathered from mandatory enrollement by providing a free or family-funded bed hold.  DOH has indicated that they will eventually consolidate all of the FAQs but at this point in time the new document is available here.  Previous FAQ documents may be accessed on the State's Managed Care Benefit Expansion (MRT 1458) web page.
