DOH Posts 2020 NHQI Results

The Department of Health (DOH) has finalized the results of the 2020 Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI). Provider results are currently posted to the Health Commerce System (HCS). The results will also be publicly available on the Health Data NY website. The final results, which will include detail on the 2020 cut points that separate quintiles for each measure, should be made available on Aug. 31, 2021. Note that the 2020 NHQI results are based primarily on a 2019 measurement year. Also available on the Health Data NY webpage is the NHQI methodology for 2020.

The quality scores are the basis of redistributing $50 million in funding. Homes in the top three quintiles receive a net positive financial impact, while those in the bottom two quintiles receive a negative adjustment.
