ABSTRACT: NYAHSA provides links to Medicaid rate Webinar recording.

Introduction
As members are aware, the Department of Health (DOH) recently issued Medicaid rates for the period of April 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009, and the period of January 1, 2010 through March 31, 2010.  These rates include several key changes including:

1. The update to the 2002 base year methodology;
2. The Minimum Data Set (MDS) census roster case mix;
3. The Medicaid-only case mix; and
4. The statutorily mandated “scale back adjustment.”

Encore Webinar Presentations
Given this complex array of changes to the Medicaid rates, NYAHSA and the other members of the Joint Association Task Force (JATF) coordinated live Webinar presentations on the new rate sheets on January 15^th and 19^th.   During these Webinars the DOH staff principally responsible for developing the new rates sheets gave detailed presentations and answered audience questions.

The two presentations are the same, except for differences in questions from the audience.  The slide show used in the presentations is attached to this memo.  DOH will also be posting an FAQ based on the questions from the two sessions on the Heath Providers Network (HPN- https://commerce.health.state.ny.us/), along with additional clarifying information.  NYAHSA will advise members as DOH posts any additional materials.

Conclusion
Again, with this complexity of changes, NYAHSA and our JATF partners felt it was critical to coordinate these Webinar sessions as soon as rates were issued.  If you did not have an opportunity to participate in one of the sessions, or would like to review the material presented, NYAHSA hopes that these encore postings will be helpful.
