Nursing Home Resident Transition to Managed Care

The Department of Health (DOH) presented a webinar on Wed., Dec. 18 titled, The Transition of Nursing Home Populations and Benefits to Medicaid Managed Care. New individuals becoming permanent nursing home residents will be required to enroll in managed care plans starting in March 2014 in downstate areas. Upstate mandatory enrollment will begin in September 2014. The presentation reviewed timelines, network requirements, reimbursement policies and other key areas of concern.
