Nursing Home Transition to Managed Care

Last week DOH issued a third set of FAQs based on questions submitted by providers and managed care plans regarding the transition of the nursing home population and benefit into managed care.  The document, titled Frequently Asked Questions Part 2, is available here.  This follows Part 1 issued in March, posted here.  A set of FAQs issued in January on the topic is available here.

As of Feb. 1, 2015, new permanent nursing home Medicaid residents in New York City must enroll into managed care.  The requirement expanded to Long Island and Westchester County on April 1 and will begin upstate in July.
