DOH Offering eFINDS Training
The Department of Health (DOH) will offer a one-hour training on the New York State Evacuation of Facilities in Disasters Systems (eFINDS), the patient/resident tracking application housed on the Health Commerce System (HCS). The course will be available on any one of the following dates: Wed., Aug. 26th from 10 to 11 a.m.; Fri., Sept. 25th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Tues., Oct. 27th from 1 to 2 p.m.; Thurs., Nov. 19th from 10 to 11 a.m.; or Wed., Dec. 16th from 2 to 3 p.m.
This course will provide a solid foundation for registering and updating patient/resident location information during an incident or event such as a storm, flood, non-natural incident, or practice exercise/drill.
Course participants will be provided a demonstration of the eFINDS application, including eFINDS Data Reporter and eFINDS Data Administrator role permissions, how to register a patient/resident with a scanner and without, how to use a spreadsheet to register multiple patient/residents, and how to update patient/resident tracking information as an evacuating facility and as a receiving facility.
Participants should be assigned to the eFINDS Data Reporter, eFINDS Reporting Administrator, or eFINDS Reader role prior to the training and know where their eFINDS supplies (wristbands, scanner, and PDF log files) are located.
Registration on the DOH Learning Management System (LMS) is required.
