CrowdStrike Outages Appear to Subside

(July 23, 2024) As members are aware, on July 19th, a faulty software update resulted in global disruptions to Windows operating systems at organizations that use CrowdStrike software. The disruption impacted aviation, banking, and other enterprises including health care. The problem stemmed from a defect found in a cybersecurity update implemented by CrowdStrike and impacted CrowdStrike customers.

While the error has been resolved, disruptions caused by the error have the potential to continue. The Department of Health (DOH) did not issue any guidance or alert on the issue. However, LeadingAge NY has shared with Department staff the challenges of impacted members to provide them with situational awareness.

Please reach out to LeadingAge NY staff if you are experiencing continued challenges on this matter.
