Extension of the 2020 Compliance Period for Facility Evacuation Planning
In a Dec. 20, 2019 letter, the Department of Health (DOH) informed providers in New York City of the need to review and update their data in the Health Commerce System (HCS), the Health Emergency Response Data System (HERDS) Critical Asset Survey (CAS), and the Facility Evacuation Planning Application (FEPA). This information is needed as part of the annual health care coastal storm, flood, and non-coastal storm hazards planning efforts. The information was initially due March 31, 2020, but the deadline has been extended to May 31, 2020 due to the needed focus of adult care facilities (ACFs) and nursing homes on COVID-19-related activities.
The requirement for this information applies only to providers in the five boroughs of New York City.
