NYS Receives CMS Extension of Temporary Nurse Aide Waiver The waiver will allow temporary nurse aides who have not yet completed their certified nurse aide training and testing to continue to work as nurse aides until the end of the federal COVID public health emergency. LeadingAge NY has asked NYS DOH to clarify the scope of the waiver.

LeadingAge NY Comments on COVID-19 Vaccination Offer Regulation LeadingAge NY submitted comments on the proposed regulation requiring nursing homes and ACFs to provide or arrange for COVID-19 vaccinations for residents and staff. The comments focused on lack of clarity, duplication of federal requirements for nursing homes, and disproportionately harsh penalties for ACFs.

DOH Repeals EO-38 Limits on Administrative Expenses and Executive Compensation DOH repealed the regulations implementing EO-38, which limited State-funded administrative costs and executive compensation. As a result, providers are no longer subject to the limits or required to file EO-38 disclosures.
