In comments on the revised proposed regulations, the association reiterated the need for modifications in the inventory calculation and Medicaid rates that cover unreimbursed PPE stockpile costs.

Emergency regulations on nursing home PPE stockpiles have been renewed with modest changes, and the revised version has been republished for public comment and permanent adoption.

Candidates now have the opportunity to attempt the Nursing Home Administrator examination up to four times in an annual period, instead of three attempts in a five-year period. The new regulations also allow facilities with less than 80 beds to serve as training sites.

The Public Health and Health Planning Council's Codes Committee recommended adoption of the Health Equity Certificate of Need regulation and approval of a change in the PPE stockpile requirements for COVID-19-only nursing homes. It also discussed the removal of the COVID-19 vaccination mandate for health care personnel.
