NYS Posts Resources to Help Affordable Housing Owners Access Free Broadband Infrastructure Upgrades

The NYS ConnectALL Office has posted resources to help owners of affordable housing learn more about the Affordable Housing Connectivity Program (AHCP) and how they can receive new or upgraded broadband infrastructure at no cost to them. The presentation slides from the recent “AHCP Forum for Owners of Regulated Affordable Housing Properties” are available here.

The AHCP is a $100 million initiative to upgrade in-unit broadband infrastructure for low-income affordable housing residents who currently have unreliable, unaffordable, or nonexistent internet service options in their homes, at no cost to the property owner.

The first step for building owners interested in receiving no-cost new or upgraded broadband infrastructure at their property, regardless of whether the building already has broadband wiring, is to complete the State’s AHCP owner interest survey. The survey responses will then allow the ConnectALL Office to confirm the property’s eligibility and match it with an internet service provider grantee, who will craft an installation plan tailored to the building or buildings.

Owners can learn more by visiting the ConnectALL Office AHCP website.
