NYS Opens ISP Applications for Affordable Housing Connectivity Program
NYS has opened applications for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to compete for $100 million to be granted through the Affordable Housing Connectivity Program (AHCP). The AHCP is a collaboration between the ConnectALL Office and Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) to design and install new or upgraded broadband infrastructure for 100,000 affordable housing units across the state at no cost to property owners.
Property owners interested in participating in the program should start by completing the Broadband in Your Property survey. The survey responses will allow the ConnectALL Office to confirm the property’s eligibility and match it with an ISP grantee, who will craft a custom installation plan for the property. Following the completion of infrastructure upgrades, residents will have access to digital equity and device support services via their ISPs, community-based organizations, and property owners.
The State anticipates making awards to ISPs, matching properties with ISP grantees, and deploying infrastructure upgrades in 2024 and until 2026.
Property owners can learn more by visiting the ConnectALL Office AHCP website and reviewing its Nov. 6th “AHCP Forum for Owners of Regulated Affordable Housing Properties” webinar recording and presentation materials.
