Upcoming Webinar: Successful Applications for HUD’s Green and Resilient Retrofit Funding

A new webinar from Enterprise Community Partners will review components of successful applications for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP). Register here for the Dec. 14th, 12:30 p.m. ET session.

Funded under the Inflation Reduction Act, the GRRP is the first HUD program to simultaneously invest in energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, energy generation, green and healthy housing, and climate resilience strategies specifically in HUD-assisted Multifamily Housing.

Additionally, on Dec. 4th, HUD announced progress on its 2021 Climate Action Plan. As part of its efforts, HUD touted that it required more stringent energy standards and green building approaches for new construction and substantial rehabilitation in its latest round of Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly awardees. According to HUD, bonus points were awarded to 25 properties in the Section 202 funding competition that went beyond the required efficiency and climate resilience standards. HUD has also benchmarked 463,000 units of HUD-assisted housing. Benchmarking, or the process of tracking energy and water usage at a property, enables Multifamily Housing owners to understand how their property could become more efficient.
