Reminder: Register for June 28th LeadingAge National HOTMA Overview Training
LeadingAge National will host an initial Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) Overview Training on Wed., June 28th from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET, covering next steps from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to implement HOTMA. Beginning in January 2024, affordable senior housing providers will have to comply with new rules from HOTMA affecting maximum asset limits for residents, elderly/disabled deductions, medical deductions, and more. Juliana Bilowich (Director of Housing Operations and Policy for LeadingAge National) and Rhanda McKown (Director of Affordable Housing for LeadingAge Florida) will host this initial training to review next steps, key compliance dates, and how best to prepare senior living communities for changes impacting older adults in HUD-assisted multifamily housing. Additional in-depth training sessions are anticipated as final guidance becomes available.
