Recording Available for HUD’s Webinar on New Funding for Green Retrofits
On May 23rd, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) hosted a webinar to discuss the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP), a landmark funding program to rehabilitate affordable multifamily housing programs for energy efficiency and climate resilience. A recording of the webinar is available here.
HUD has published three Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs) for the GRRP, totaling $837.5 million in grant funding and $4 billion in loan authority targeted to HUD’s multifamily housing programs, including Project-Based Section 8, Section 202, Section 236, and Section 811 properties. HUD estimates that hundreds of properties will receive funding through the new program, benefiting tens of thousands of households. Many LeadingAge National proposals have been incorporated into the program announcement, and National staff will continue working with HUD and members to improve green and resilient efforts across the affordable senior housing portfolio.
More information, including an analysis of the funding opportunities, is available here. HUD will also continue to host office hours every Wednesday through June 28th to help answer stakeholder questions. More information and a link to join are available on the GRRP webpage.
