LeadingAge National HOTMA Overview Training Recording Now Available

The recording of LeadingAge National’s June 28th Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) Overview Training for affordable senior housing providers is now available on the Learning Hub. View the training here – free for LeadingAge members.

Beginning in January 2024, affordable senior housing providers will have to comply with new rules from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) affecting maximum asset limits for residents, elderly/disabled deductions, medical deductions, and more. The initial training, hosted by Juliana Bilowich of LeadingAge National and Rhanda McKown of LeadingAge Florida, reviewed the upcoming changes and key compliance dates, focusing on likely impacts for older adults living in HUD-assisted multifamily housing. In addition, the training session included extensive opportunities for attendees to have their questions answered.

An additional, in-depth training is anticipated from LeadingAge National in September as final guidance becomes available from HUD. Find out more about HOTMA and keep up with announcements from HUD here.
