LeadingAge Hosts Key HUD Officials for Updates on HOTMA and More

(Nov. 12, 2024) Over the course of four days in late October, LeadingAge hosted top officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at its Annual Meeting in Nashville. The conference was widely attended by housing providers and professionals from across the spectrum of aging services.

During the action-packed meeting, top HUD officials shared updates on the future of affordable housing programs, including updates on Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) implementation, supplemental funding for preserving senior housing communities, Medicare Advantage Flex Card impacts on resident income calculations, compliance with HUD’s new housing quality protocol, and more. LeadingAge provider members can read key takeaways here.

The 2025 LeadingAge Annual Meeting in Boston will be held in conjunction with the Global Ageing Network’s biennial conference. Aging services providers and business members currently have the opportunity to share their original, thought-provoking approaches, ideas, models, best practices, and more with the LeadingAge community at the 2025 Annual Meeting. Those interested may submit proposals for consideration by Dec. 9th and view guidelines and submission information here.
