HUD Provides Updates on Service Coordinator Grant Renewals, HOTMA Delay at LeadingAge Leadership Summit

(April 22, 2025) The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), at LeadingAge’s Leadership Summit in Washington, DC, addressed the significant delay in processing extensions and payments for Calendar Year 2025 Service Coordinator grant agreements for affordable senior housing communities. At the early April event, HUD leaders stated that they hoped to publish the grant renewal guidance by the end of April, with payment expected in July or August. See this article from LeadingAge for more information.

HUD leaders also provided LeadingAge members with updates on compliance deadlines for the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) at the Leadership Summit, stating that compliance with new requirements under HOTMA, currently set for July 1st, will need to be delayed. The agency has not yet announced a new compliance date or published a written Notice of the delay. Get all of the details from LeadingAge here.
